We have sadly come to a close on our apple unit. We had a lot of fun learning about apples! Your children learned that apples come in different colors and they grow on trees. We also talked about the parts of an apple as well as the different foods an apple makes. We taste tested many items including: a red delicious apple, a granny smith apple, a golden delicious apple, applesauce, apple juice, and apple cinnamon Cheerios. The apple juice was a huge hit! We created many graphs documenting our favorite foods. Below is one that I quickly drew on our board. We also displayed a graph of our favorite apple in our room.

Well, he finally showed up! Our special friend read us two Winnie the Pooh stories. Some of us were scared to see him while others were ecstatic. Thanks to Barnes & Noble who made this visit possible!!

On Thursday the 27th, Mrs. Brogan read us two Winnie the Pooh stories. We learned how Pooh got his name!!!!

I am so happy to announce that Winnie the Pooh will be visiting us this FRIDAY!! Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Brogan, will read us a story about our special guest tomorrow (Thursday). We will then get a "suprise" visit from the one and only Winnie the Pooh! I am so excited!!!!!!

Thanks to all my parents and grandparents who stopped by on Friday! It was great to see so many familiar faces and to meet new ones. If you weren't able to stop by please know there will be many other opportunities for you to visit your child's classroom.

Stop by on Friday, August 21st from 2:00-3:00! You can meet me, tour your awesome new classroom, drop off your school supplies, and tour the school. I can't wait to meet you all!

School is right around the corner and I am getting super excited! I can't wait to meet my wonderful students and their parents. I have created this blog as a way to communicate and showcase what we will be learning in our classroom. You will soon find class projects, writing samples, artwork, and even photographs of your child engaged in active learning. Let's get this thing going and I'll see you soon!
Please feel free to leave comments as they are greatly appreciated.
