Outstanding projects will be posted soon!

This Nine Weeks in My Class:
We have been working with their new technology curriculum which is online. Each student has their own log in and can access the Web site through
www.snipurl.com/valdez. Test and quizzes will be taken online. All assignments directions will be posted online and submitted electronically. Students can also access their student Imail accounts through this online curriculum.
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A PEN DRIVE TO SAVE THEIR WORK. Student work is not secure on the student computers and can be deleted, altered, or used by anyone else. Work saved to the computers will be deleted very often to prevent students for using anyone else's work. Pen drive storage space is recommended to be at least 1G, but the minimum requirement for class is 512MB.
We will occassionally be also working on typing skills and the integration of TAKS related activities.
Students are finishing a long study of computer hardware and software which included a foundation in what is an Acceptable Use Policy. Students final products are to create their "ideal" home computer. Then they must create 2 forms of advertisement. Students have received an introduction throughout this unit not only of computer hardware and software but have also been introduced to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel, Macromedia Fireworks, Microsoft Paint, Microsoft Publisher, Internet research, copyright law, Inspiration, Emailing with attachments, converting files, uploading documents, voice and video recording, creating online Videos through
www.voicethread.com, and lessons on Cyber Safety.
After completing the current projects students will then be moving on to a more indepth student of the Microsoft Office products.
